Acadian Coastal South Region
Map
The Acadian Coastal South Region has a variable coastline to explore. At the point where Miramichi Bay meets up with the Gulf of St. Lawrence at Escuminac, you will find peat cliffs crumbling into the sea. At Kouchibouguac National Park you will find long sand dunes protecting salt water marshes full of shorebirds. There are also several smaller tidal rivers flowing into the Northumberland Strait to explore. To the south the landscape is a mix of beaches and red sandstone cliffs, similar to what you would see across the strait in Prince Edward Island.
