Meduxnekeag River

Map

Description

The Meduxnekeag River begins in the state of Maine and flows through the Town of Houlton. The river then heads north before crossing the US-Canada border. Not far from the border it tumbles over Jackson Falls and then heads southwest, through the Meduxnekeag Valley Nature Preserve and towards the town of Woodstock. In Woodstock it flows into a wide basin before narrowing in and flowing into the St. John River. The river is a moderately good paddling river. Like other rivers this size, it can get quite shallow in the dry summer months.

Directions
